SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

The people of the Republic of Moldova have the right to live their life that meets the accepted standards of a modern democratic society. This means among others that they are able to enjoy favorable conditions allowing them to demonstrate all their abilities and capacities and to live in a friendly, healthy and sustainable environment. In such a society is education integrated and available for all groups of the society. Social development is therefore an important precondition to achieve such a situation and supports sustainability and social enhancement in the country.

Moldova is currently facing various challenges in the areas of healthcare, combating poverty, education and the improvement of the situation of vulnerable groups in the society and gender. Important steps need to be made to contribute to overcome these challenges.

ACTIVITIES

To improve the situation of vulnerable groups in the society of the Republic of Moldova. In particular:

  • The situation of single mothers
  • Abandoned children and children of single mothers
  • Children and women who are the victim of domestic violence
  • To promote the cultural heritage of ethnic and national minorities living in Moldova
  • To promote to the civil society the free flow of information
  • To educate children from disadvantaged social groups the values of a democratic society

INQUA-Moldava aims to contribute to a balanced social development in the Republic of Moldova with the focus on enhancing the situation of vulnerable groups.

Through:

  • Organizing (local and/or regional) workshops for vulnerable groups to raise awareness for their position and challenges
  • The identification of the vulnerable groups in the Moldovan society, to examine their situation and to develop tailored programs for support
  • Educational projects for guiding children to advanced education and professional trainings to enhance their chances for a stabile position in the Moldovan society
  • The establishment of healthcare programs to monitor and to improve the health situation of groups of vulnerable children
  • The establishment of homes for abandoned children
  • The establishment of bath and sanitary facilities villages for vulnerable children and older people
  • The establishment of ‘community care’ programs to create a joint ‘responsibility’ of a village community for basic care for vulnerable groups
  • The development of integration programs for vulnerable groups to enhance equal chances for them in the Moldovan society and creating basic conditions
